Looking Forward to a Great Year Together
Dear Pleasantville School Community,
I am honored and excited to join the Pleasantville Union Free School District as Interim Superintendent of Schools. Having spent the past 30 years in the Rye Neck School District—most recently as Superintendent—I have long admired Pleasantville’s outstanding reputation, academic excellence, and the deep sense of pride that runs through its schools and community. It is a privilege to now be part of this remarkable district.
In recent weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with building and department leaders, and I’ve already witnessed the passion, professionalism, and dedication that define the faculty, staff, and administrators here. I look forward to building strong relationships with all members of the school community as we work together to ensure every student continues to learn, grow, and thrive.
Whether it's in the classroom, on the field, or on the stage, Pleasantville clearly holds itself to a high standard. I am eager to support that momentum and collaborate on shared priorities that reflect the values of this community.
As a lifelong educator, I believe communication is much like instruction: it should be thoughtful, purposeful, and differentiated based on the needs of the audience. Just as great teaching reaches every learner, my goal is to keep families, faculty, and community members informed and engaged through clear, respectful, and responsive communication.
My first opportunity to meet the community will be at Lemonade at the Library, a casual meet-and-greet scheduled for Tuesday, August 5 from 6:00–7:00 PM outside the Pleasantville High School Library.
By way of background, I live in Connecticut with my wife and am the proud father of two grown children. I’m passionate about education and also enjoy music, sports, and a good book. I’m eager to bring my experience and energy to this role and am deeply committed to serving the students, staff, and families of Pleasantville with care and integrity. I look forward to a great year ahead.
Best regards,
Eric Lutinski
